Benoit Denizet-Lewis is a writer with the New York Times Magazine and an assistant professor of writing and publishing at Emerson College. He is the author of three nonfiction books--his most recent, Travels With Casey, was a New York Times bestseller. Benoit is a producer on the 2015 film I AM MICHAEL, which stars James Franco and Zachary Quinto and which is based on Benoit's 2011 New York Times Magazine piece, "My Ex-Gay Friend." Benoit's magazine writing has also appeared in The New Republic, Sports Illustrated, Details, Out, Slate, and many others. The Advocate magazine recently named Benoit one of the most influential LGBT people in media.
